Submit Your Rosie the Riveter Stories — Publishing Opportunity
Post #36 – Rosie’s Daughters: The “First Woman To” Generation Tells Its Story by Matilda Butler and Kendra Bonnett
Was your mother or grandmother a Rosie the Riveter? If so, here’s a fun way to honor her and the work that she did for this country.
We just had an email from Stacy Flankey, General Manager of Altissimo Recordings. Her company is in the midst of working on a new CD. Specifically, Stacy works at American Patriotic Classics/Altissimo Recordings, a record label that distributes the music of the U.S. military bands.
She told us how excited she is to be creating a tribute to “Rosie the Riveter” CD. She wrote:
“The CD will feature music of the WWII era. We wanted to do something special for the liner notes of this project. We are seeking out personal stories, pictures, biographies, Rosie tattoos, etc. to compile and create our liner notes. We already have found one “Rosebud” that will be writing the big bulk of the notes, but wanted to reach out and include others as a tribute to other Rosies.” –Stacy Flankey
If you have a story of your mother or grandmother who worked during World War II, consider writing it and submitting it for possible inclusion in the liner notes of this special CD. If your story is chosen, you get a free copy of the CD. And just for submitting, you will get a special 25% off coupon for the CD when it comes out.
DETAILS
Please send your story to stacy@militarymusic.com by October 22nd. So that it doesn’t get lost in Stacy’s emails, be sure to put ROSIE THE RIVETER in the subject line.
